Description
A Netlon Advanced Turf parking lot was installed to serve as parking for the golfers of Troy Burne Golf Club. It is identical in size and shape as a conventional parking lot on the opposite side of the entrance road. The Netlon Advanced Turf parking lot has a bituminous track through it and the cars turn off this onto the grass surface. This is the 6th season of use for the parking lot. Netlon mesh was mixed and place in a 6” lift across the top of the surface on granular subgrade soils.

Project
Description
A portion of the regular parking lot was designed with Netlon Advanced Turf to provide overflow parking and be an infiltration area to control stormwater runoff. The Advanced Turf is part of the banks parking lot requirement. The area covers 13 parking stalls but receives 64% percent of the impervious stormwater runoff that drains off the roof, concrete and bituminous surfaces. All this stormwater drains to and through the Advanced Turf area thus slowing the runoff surge. The filtering process helps cool and treat the water prior to discharge to the city storm sewer system which discharges into a jurisdictional wetland.

Project
Description
The use of two Netlon Advanced Turf filter/infiltration basins was a unique design for the new headquarters for Cummins, in White Bear Lake, MN, for stormwater management control. The front of the new headquarters made up a 2 acre sub-watershed that was mostly impervious. All the stormwater from the building and parking lot drained toward the city street and into the sewer system. The city and watershed required pre-treatment and rate control of the stormwater runoff prior to discharge into the sewer system. This was accomplished with two Netlon Advanced Turf filter/infiltration areas in lieu of a stormwater retention pond during the Fall of 2002
