General FAQs | Advanced
Turf | Netpave | Turfguard
Netpave is now
a family of (currently) two products; Netpave 50 and Netpave 25.
The number refers to mm thickness ie Netpave 50 is 50mm thick.
Netpave 50 normally
requires some level of excavation for installation dependent on
ground strength and the level/type of traffic that it is designed
to carry. More details can be found in the installation guides.
Netpave 25 has a similar design to Netpave 50, but is 25mm thick
and is designed to be laid directly on top of an existing grass
surface with minimal preparation required. Again, more details can
be found in the relevant data sheets.

FAQs

 |
Do we need edgings or pegs to retain the pavers? |
 |
Due to the unique slot & lug connectors by which the pavers interlock, there is no requirement for the pavers to be pegged down,
except in exceptional circumstances where slopes are involved. Edging boards or kerbs can be used, but are not essential and will be site specific. Consult our Netpave 50 Design & Installation guidance or contact Netlon for advice.
|

 |
Why is the advantage of the paver being Flexible? |
 |
The unique
flexibility of Netpave 50 and Netpave 25 enable them to contour
to existing ground conditions and respond to any differential
settlement that may occur within the construction at a later
date. It also provides an ability to flex laterally around large
radii or to fit against uneven edgings without having to cut
the pavers. |

 |
What are the pavers made of and how long will they last? |
 |
The pavers are made from 100% recycled polyethylene and being black, they are more resistant to UV light than a coloured paver. So, combined with the fact that they will be within the surface and also covered with grass or gravel, they will retain their integrity for several years. |

 |
When would a gravel filled Netpave 50 surface be appropriate? |
 |
When the volume of traffic over a grassed surface would be too intense for grass to be retained. By using the Netpave 50 with gravel, the gravel will be retained within the paver cells whereas it would otherwise be quickly eroded away. |

 |
Are the pavers easily cut to shape and what should we use to cut them? |
 |
Yes the pavers can be easily cut using standard hand tools or powered equipment as discussed in our Netpave 50 design & Installation guidance. |
