The specialised nature of
sports surfaces has meant that Netlon works with StrathAyr
Turf Systems of Australia to design, install and further develop ReFlex®
mesh elements to provide a natural turf surface which is reinforced with a sand
rootzone to provide long term economic and 'athlete-safety' benefits for stadiums
and major sports events applications.
The ReFlex mesh elements
provides a load bearing capacity equivalent to a secondary bitumen road. Further,
the incorporation of the mesh elements prevents compaction and enables rootzone
aeration which encourages vigorous turf growth and rapid repair. The concept provides
for a high growth rootzone environment with rapid drainage rates, increased moisture
retention, quicker wear recovery... and maintains a healthier turf all year round!
A large number of major
sports stadiums now incorporate ReFlex® mesh elements in their field, world-wide.
These stadiums provide intensive, all weather, multi-event use opportunities which
have been highly valued by the stadium owners and operators.
